Hello parents, We are four weeks into the school year and we have been learning a lot and will continue to learn a lot. Please take a few moments to sit down with your child and talk about listening and respecting teachers and adults in the classroom/school building. There are some students who have been doing an OUTSTANDING job at listening to me while I am teaching, but there are a few who still continue to talk over me and do not listen. I am working on it within in the classroom, but a comment from you as their parents would be appreciated, thank you. Calendar: September 13: No School – PD Day September 20: Fall Fiesta 4:30 – 7:30 pm September 23 – 27: Sprit Week September 26: School Pictures (uniform) September 27: Dollar Dress Down Day and Early Out @ 12:45 pm Literacy: This week will be Wonders Unit 1 Week 1. I sent home a homework pack today, and homework will follow that same format every week. Included in the packet is a spelling list, spelling homework (word search and vocabulary matching), fast and fluent sentences (please time your students 3 times a night while they read that), and the reading log. Normally I would ask for all of that to be turned in on Friday, but I will ask for it to be turned in on Monday September 16 since there is no school on Friday. Please practice the spelling words with your student every night. We will have our first spelling test on Thursday this week. Spelling tests will be every Friday. I will also give a weekly comprehension test every Friday based of the strategy, skill, grammar, vocab words, etc. that we have been discussing for the week. Spelling words:
